ACTION! ACTION! ACTION!
Your Help is Needed!
Anderson Mill knows that knowledge leads to caring and caring leads to action. We need your help catching our students in action. If you see your child using the knowledge they learn at school and putting it into action at home please send us a note or comment documenting this action! This way we are aware that the knowledge they are learning is being applied to the real world. Once you send us a note or comment online we will post the action on the website and in the classroom!

Jobs in our community
Dear Parents:
We have started a new Integrated IB unit ”How We Organize Ourselves”. The central idea is: People have different jobs and we work together to meet each others needs. We are asking parents if they would like to come and give a short presentation about their job , and how it meets other people’s needs.

Integrated Science and Social Studies
In September, we will start the IB unit “We Work Together”.
• We will inquire into our roles and responsibilities
• Jobs in the world
• How we work together to meet each others needs
Math
• Number concepts can be used every day
• Counting is a way to find a number of objects
• A calendar measures time in years, months, and days
• Math ideas can be expressed in words
• Geometric Shapes
• Patterns
Language Arts:
• Concepts of print
• Sound to letter correspondence/ Capital and lowercase letters
• Purpose for listening
